My name is Andrew Gilchrist. I take pictures.
I’ve been a photographer since I was seven years old. My father was a photographer before me. As a child, I rejected formal training in art, design and photography. Rather, I was handed a camera at age seven and told to “keep it steady.” Sometimes I rebelled and intentionally let the camera shake.
Later I attended the photography program at Conestoga College in Kitchener, ON and the Ontario College of Art & Design (OCAD) in Toronto, ON. I found both programs valuable, but left both incomplete.
